About 4 weeks after almost 300 girls were kidnapped by Boko haram in a Borno state boarding school in Chibok, there had been reports in the media of plans by the President to visit the Area but lately it seems the plan has changed.Some politicians had urged the President to visit Chibok to at least show his solidarity towards the people and there had been earlier plans by the presidency to do so but this has been changed.According to the official explanation which was given by the president on Saturday at a press conference in Paris, he said that his going there is not going to bring back the girls which was his ultimate goal for now.Since the girls are no longer in Chibok, it no longer makes sense visiting there but rather his focus was on intensifying efforts to find them. He said the military are already on ground around Chibok and the border areas and so all hands are now on deck to find the missing girls.
