It appears that Jonathan does not want to be distracted with the statements of his political opponents in the media or the rising violence in cities like Jos and Borno all of which may actually be pre-election jitters.
Jonathan has become President of Nigeria from May 2010 and it is already 10 months now and with the recent PDP coronation, Jonathan is waxing stronger and with confidence that he will remain Nigeria's President beyond 2011.
There are may ways to look at the Jonathanian Presidency, rising from a humble background in Ogbia, Bayelsa state to become Yaradua's number 2 and now Nigeria's number 1. The 2011 Presidential elections
Although there has been a lot of pre-election violence and bloodshed before this election, it seems that the good people of Nigeria still believe in us. I had written an article on there will be blood, I never knew that the Jos crisis will be this bloody. My heart goes out to Jos, a city like no other. Who ever knew that little children and women would be the major victims?
Inspite of all these happening, I think Jonathan is now more resolute to carry on his duty as the nation's servant. He would most likely win the elections again and there will be surprises in some states.Will there be more bloodshed?
No one except God knows what will happen in 2011, but I think the worst has happened and we should pray that we don't experience something like that again but if any more violence should happen, the police is more than capable of handling it. Jonathan in 2012
With Jonathan remaining as Nigeria's most trusted president, I think Nigeria's economy would grow a bit and the standard of living will improve. The question now is, what does Jona have for us in his next term as President.
